What the factory handles are like
Factory Ranger grab handles are moulded plastic, mounted on the A pillars and sometimes above the rear doors depending on the model year. They do the job on the school run, but on corrugations or a rocky climb they're hard on the hand and offer little to actually grip onto. It's a common complaint from Ranger owners doing any real touring.
Fitment
Rangers use screw mounted grab handles, which means a replacement bolts straight into the same factory holes using the same fixings. No drilling, no clips to work around. Most Ranger owners land on 24cm for the pillar mounts, though this varies slightly by model year and trim, which is why we always recommend measuring rather than assuming.
Pop the cover off your factory handle, measure centre of mounting hole to centre of mounting hole, then add four to five centimetres for hand clearance. That's your length. Full method in our measuring guide.
