How to Install Your Krawlergrips Paracord Grab Handles
A simple guide to fitting your handmade 4WD grab handles
Installing your Krawlergrips is straight forward for many vehicles and can usually be completed with a few basic tools.
Before you begin, check how your factory grab handles are mounted. Some vehicles use screws, while others use plastic clips or different mounting systems.
If your vehicle uses clips, you may need nut inserts or an alternative mounting solution before installing your new handles.
Tools You'll Need
For most installations you'll need:
- Screwdriver or drill
- 4mm Allen key or Allen bit
- Washers (larger washers may provide better support depending on your setup)
- Your Krawlergrips grab handles
Step by Step Installation
1. Remove the Factory Covers
Open the plastic covers on your existing grab handles to expose the mounting screws.
2. Remove the Factory Handles
Using the appropriate screwdriver or drill, remove the original grab handles and keep the hardware if you plan to reuse it.
3. Position Your Krawlergrips
Place your Krawlergrips over the mounting holes, ensuring they sit evenly before tightening.
4. Secure the Handles
Install using your original mounting screws or compatible replacement bolts.
If required, fit washers to help distribute the load across the mounting point.
Tighten securely using a 4mm Allen key or suitable driver.
5. Check Your Installation
Once fitted, gently pull on each handle to confirm it is securely attached and all hardware is properly tightened.
If anything feels loose, stop and check the installation before use.
